Value question? There are a few minor rock chips on passenger side hood just above the headlight. Drivers side is OK. At this time, I’ve decided to leave it as is & do not really want to disturb the originality or value. Is this the right decision or should I touch it up? I’m thinking paint match after 45 years could be an issue? What do you think? Does the value go down if I touch it up?
Car is neat & clean. Minor detailing in engine compartment could be done.
Frame is nice & clean with no rust
2nd owner’s mechanic just went thru the car (Aug. 2020) & buffed it
Rebuilt Carb – Changed fluids – checked brakes, transmission & everything else
No fluid drips – Tires are like new
Window sticker & other docs
Two owners since new – less than 50 miles per year
1st owner – husband died 6 months after purchase – she put in storage for over 20 years. She never drove it
2nd owner – a pal of mine – had it around 25 years & kept it stored. He used to own a Chevy Dealership in MN.
All storage was in a climate-controlled building since new & on a battery tender
Bought new in @ Schneider Lincoln Mercury in St. Paul, MN
This has to be one of the lowest mile & most original 76’s anywhere?
The car was just not driven very often.
It has been started at least a couple times a year while in storage & had short warm up drives a couple miles to insure everything was working OK.
The car really belongs in a museum.
I am open to serious offers over $35k
